How can mediation help my marriage?
Mediation is a forum for discussion with the aim of encouraging parties to reach agreement on marital issues. A solicitor who is a trained mediator will meet the parties and remain neutral throughout the discussions which take place over 4 to 5 meetings. Mediation can cover all issues following a separation i.e. children, financial matters.
What information do I need to prepare?
It is very useful if clients are aware of their financial position e.g.full details of income of both parties, mortgage and utility payments and other financial out goings, values of property and other assets. With regard to children, relevant information such as school holidays, ages and dates of birth are useful.
How do I get to Mediation?
We will arrange this for you and explain the procedures.
Costs / Funding?
We know it is important from the outset to provide you with full information relating to the estimated costs of a case and we will discuss that in detail with you. It may be that you will qualify for Public Funding and that will be assessed at your initial appointment.
