Personal Life

Victims & Witnesses

If you are a victim or a witness in a criminal case we may be able to help make sure your get the outcome or understanding you require.  As criminal defence specialists, we know the system inside out, and know exactly what you should expect or should consider.

Sometimes a consultation session can simply explain the process and what to expect.  You might want help advancing a Victim Personal Statement.  You might be worried about attending at court or not want to go at all.  We know the system and can help.  We are increasingly contacted by victims and witnesses who are concerned that the police and CPS, with all their funding cuts and resource issues, are simply unable to ensure that your case is put forward effectively or persuasively.

Too many victims struggle to have the police treat their concerns seriously.  What might be minor to them could be very important indeed to you.  If the police or the CPS decide not to charge a suspect or drop a case you might be able to access the ‘Victim’s Charter’ to review that decision.

If your child is due to give a statement to the police about a sexual or violent offence, including a video interview under the Achieving Best Evidence guidelines (ABE interview) and you want advice and assistance contact our specialist lawyer Nicholas Wragg. Nicholas has a welath of experience in handling these matters at the highest level.

We can also help with getting the compensation or protection you deserve.  We handle claims to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and offer support to victims and witnesses who are seeking protective orders in the Criminal Courts.  We can advise and represent on obtaining civil injunctions.
